Mr. Khairul Salleh

Khairul is the Senior General Manager; Strategy, Business Development & Commercial of Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn. Bhd. He was a Petronas scholar who graduated from Lamar University, Texas with a BSc in Chemical Engineering in 1990. He is completing his MSc in Process Plant Operation at Universiti Malaysia Pahang by Jan 2022. He started his career with Petronas Penapisan Melaka and later held several positions in Petronas oil refinery locations in Durban, South Africa and Kerteh Terengganu. He was appointed as the GM for Penapisan Terengganu in 2006 after heading Penapisan Melaka Process Engineering function upon his return from Durban in 2004. Khairul also spent 5 years in various other locations outside of Petronas with companies such as RasGas, Lynas and Shell before returning to Petronas for the commencement of the RAPID Project. While in RAPID, he served as the Project Director for Utilities & Facilities, Operation Head, Head of Manufacturing, CEO of Pengerang Power before his latest appointment as the CEO of PRPC UF. He currently sits in several boards of Petronas companies. Khairul started Petronas’ Advanced Process Control journey at Penapisan Melaka and fondly enjoyed the experience in modelling and using data for the purpose of optimizing process plants operation.
